This year, 100 of Canada’s top next gen athletes came together in Halifax, NS, bringing talent, grit and determination to the 2024 RBC Training Ground National Final. Under the bright lights, participants competed in hopes of being identified as an RBC Future Olympian.
Today, we celebrate the Top 30 RBC Future Olympians who will be receiving funding and support as they chase their dreams of competing for Team Canada.
The support is not limited to funding, but it includes investments in the athletes’ overall personal and athletic development. The Top 30 will receive mentorship from RBC Olympians, connection to top coaches, and access to RBC financial literacy resources – all designed to elevate their training and help them grow as individuals.

For many, this moment is a defining one in sport:
“Competing in Halifax was an incredible experience – I knew it would be fun, but I didn’t realize how inspiring it would be, surrounded by so many amazing athletes and RBC Olympians from across Canada. The energy motivated me to push myself further toward my goals.”
– ShonDreya Smardon, 2024 RBC Future Olympian, Ottawa, ON.
“Aside from being surrounded and supported by RBC Olympians, I am grateful to receive funding. It will help as I have one less thing to worry about, and can give it my all towards my training and Olympic dreams.”
– Béatrice Lamarche, 2024 RBC Future Olympian, Québec City, QC.
“The athletes all had smiles and laughter on their faces but when it was time to perform they were able to push themselves to their best. Showing the duality of sport and what we love about it. Having fun and pushing our limits!”
– Clarence Gay, Rugby Canada (Strength and Conditioning)
As we look to the future, we’re excited to watch these athletes’ journeys unfold. Their stories of growth, determination and success will undoubtedly inspire others to pursue their podium dreams. But in the meantime, they are living proof that hard work and opportunity can open doors to realizing Olympic potential.
